As a former collegiate soccer player who has endured 8 knee surgeries, I know how important it is to have a group of people you can go to for support. Even though all of my surgeries and rehab took place before the internet and social networking were popular, I quickly recognized the value of this kind of site... where athletes can come and share concerns, ask questions, find a good doctor, and get advice. I know I would have spent a lot of time chatting with other injured athletes about pain I was experiencing or the fear I had before going to physical therapy the first time after surgery. Injuries take a toll on athletes, both mentally and physically, and we all deserve to have a strong support group on which we can rely.
